Overview

Reporting to the VP, Insights & Analytics, the Director of Consumer & Shopper Insights oversees all aspects of Consumer and Shopper research for LWTA Americas. He/she will serve as a key influencer and will drive action-oriented research into daily decision making across all brands. He/she ensures the “voice of the consumer” in business decision making and acts as a strategic partner and consumer insight consultant in support of strategy, marketing, sales, and product innovation development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop insights capability within the organization
  • Provide integrated consumer & shopper insights to facilitate strategic and tactical planning that will result in profitable growth
  • Work with all functional areas including Marketing, R&D, Sales, Customer Care and Finance to establish & deliver annual research agenda
  • Proactively leads effort to identify research needs and ensure that the appropriate methodologies and techniques are used to meet business objectives and timelines.  
  • Represent the voice of the consumer and ensure consumer insights are integrated into decision making and embedded in the organization.  
  • Provide consumer insight via; brand health & loyalty studies, market positioning work, segmentation, concept testing, brand health, path-to-purchase, feature optimization, etc.
  • Execute projects that deliver enhanced consumer experience and business outcomes.
  • Ensures decisions are fact-based, using category, brand, customer, and consumer data.
  • Establishes preferred vendor relationships to support best practices and continually drives vendor management strategies that enable optimal partnerships and “value add.”
  • Acts as a strategic partner and consumer insight consultant to the business.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to facilitate shared learning and cross-fertilization of ideas and knowledge
  • Interpret and synthesize multi-source data to insights that will lead to actionable strategies and plans for our brands.
  • Leverage primary and secondary research to diagnose or understand business issues
  • Owns quality of all consumer & shopper research
  • Oversee both technical and business acumen development of direct reports
  • Identify & recommend new research protocols
  • Manage consumer research budget

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years’ experience in client-side Consumer & Shopper Insights
