  • Overview

    The Credit and Collections Team Lead oversees day to day credit and collection activities and provides leadership to the Credit and Collection staff. Position is responsible for maximizing collections and minimizing bad debt losses. Develops and maintains relationships with new and existing customers and works with cross functional teams to resolve issues.

    Responsibilities

    • Review delinquent accounts with Credit & Collection reps to ensure timely follow up on past due receivables.
    • Maintain monthly metrics and provide feedback to Credit and Collection reps.
    • Manage credit underwriting process for new and existing customers.
    • Review and approve over line requests within approved authority.
    • Interface with sales organization to communicate credit decisions and ensure timely review of new customers.    
    • Negotiates settlements on disputed balances.
    • Analyzes portfolio to proactively identify potential high risk accounts and minimize bad debt losses.
    • Prepares letters and notices to delinquent accounts.
    • Reviews and recommends accounts to be placed with outside collection agency.
    • Manages relationship with credit reporting agency.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or General Business or relevant work experience
    • Minimum 2-4  years in Credit & Collections and supervisory experience
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word 
    • Experience in analyzing financial statements for the purpose of underwriting credit
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Considerable experience with customer negotiation
    • Well organized detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
    • Self-motivated with a proven ability to meet individual and team objectives
