    The Process Improvement Manager strives to maintain and improve efficiency, productivity, and quality performance of the facility.  This position is accountable for developing and leading the implementation of operational process improvements by evaluating current practices and looking for ways to improve productivity, reduce costs and make the best use of the business’s resources.

     

    This position is working for DPI, Decorative Panels, Alpena MI. DPI is under the LWTA umbrella of companies.

    Responsibilities

      • Lead process improvement teams to resolve quality related issues that impact product performance. Activities include: root cause analysis, corrective action planning and execution, and post-implementation validation for effectiveness and sustainability
      • Work in collaboration with manufacturing to develop and maintain procedures and standard recipes for all products
      • Develop and manage product sampling and testing protocols to ensure conformance with specifications and requirements of end user
      • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and/or improvements
      • Drive continuous productivity, efficiency, and quality improvement through active participation and leadership
      • Provide technical support to all key machine centers within plant operations
      • Maintain knowledge of industry-wide technological developments
      • Perform other duties as necessary

    Qualifications

      • Proficient at problem solving and application of statistical methodology in analysis
      • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes
      • Ability to effectively lead meetings and multi-functional teams
      • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
      • Knowledge of wood science and wood composite manufacturing preferred
      • Basic budgeting and financial analysis skills

    Education

                Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

     

    Experience

                 5+ years related experience.

      • Prior success in implementing and sustaining result improvements
