    The Cost Accounting Manager provides effective preparation, analysis, and insight of COGS (cost of goods sold) actual results and variance reporting; The Cost Accounting Manager has a key role on the Annual Operating Plan development; coordinates and directs annual cost roll-up together with Plant Controller.   As an integral member of the Finance team, this position not only effectively tells the story of significant cost drivers affecting COGS to senior management, but is capable of preparing and request action plan to the different stakeholders within the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide effective analysis and understanding of COGS actual results, budget development, and variance reporting to senior management by developing insightful reporting that helps to understand current financial performance and set the future direction of the organization.
    • Prepare, analyze and review with manufacturing management the weekly and monthly reporting of manufacturing variances and plant performance.
    • Partner with Cost Accountants and operations team on a regular basis to review and understand raw materials, and overhead cost drivers.
    • Responsible for coordinating and completing the Annual Cost Roll process, including revision of raw material pricing, BOM’s, routings and overhead rates.
    • Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose solutions to streamline processes necessary to support our rapid growth and cost efficiency.
    • Assists in the analytical and the financial development of the annual operating plan and forecast
    • Maintain a 12 month rolling estimate model, and partner with Finance team members to ensure that the monthly forecast is aligned with the model, and tracks the forecast accuracy.
    • Responsible for supervising accuracy and setting up the standard cost for labor overhead and bill of materials, including material usage, material price, routings and time consumed.
    • Lead the process for cost models and product pricing studies and new item set-ups, maintaining a standardized cost model for new product introductions and tracking the time to delivery of the different areas involved in the process.
    • Lead the process of Make vs Buy decision with Controller and Plant Manager.
    • Oversees all cost accounting and financial analysis reporting; monitors all relevant key performance indicators and reviews rate, volume, mix, efficiency, spending, and usage variances.
    • Assess performance trends and propose corrective measures in the case of deterioration related to KPIs and in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Partner effectively with the Operations and Continuous Improvement teams to develop and implement ongoing cost savings strategies, benchmarking, and incorporating new practices and manufacturing strategies.
    • Through process confirmation verify implementation and monitoring effectiveness of solutions.
    • Participate in worldwide sharing of best practices; including developing/documenting cost accounting policy and internal controls (if needed).        
    • Assume overall responsibility for the accuracy of financial reporting.
    • Participate in the annual budget process working with the local Controller and Operations Controller, assisting as needed at various stages of the process
    • Develop and monitor processes and procedures to ensure internal financial controls are in place to safeguard the organization’s assets

    • Other accounting or financial tasks as required by the Controller.

    Qualifications

    This position requires excellent analytical and negotiation skills, experience in a manufacturing, cost accounting, and the ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Technical competencies:

      • BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics.
      • Strong understanding of Cost Accounting Principles and methodologies related to product costing, bills of material, manufacturing routings and inventory control.
      • Full understanding of accounting systems and procedures
      • Planning, Budgeting and Cost Control methods and concepts
      • Extensive experience with SAP
      • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
