The Product Support Engineer will support the NPD process developing technical documentation and conduct performance and validation testing. The individual will also drive continuous product improvements through failure mode and root cause analysis.
Develop and maintain installation instructions and repair parts for residential and commercial faucets and flush valves for all LWTA brands (American Standard, DXV, Grohe)
Develop installation instruction sheets and repair part documentation for new products working closely with Product Marketing, Engineering, Technical Graphics, Quality and external supplier.
Responsible for the change management of installation instructions and repair parts sheets.
Assist with documentation to obtain product certification with IAMPO, NSF, CEC and other certifying bodies under the supervision of the Sr. Codes and Compliance Engineer.
Work with the engineering, manufacturing, quality teams as well as external suppliers to obtain product samples for submission to 3rd party test laboratories.
Conduct performance and validation testing for product improvements and competitive benchmarking:
Develop test plans including pass/fail criteria, define and follow test procedures
Collect test data, provide reporting to Engineering, Marketing and Management teams
Testing and reporting of field returns and labor claims
Conduct failure mode and root cause analysis
Reporting and conclusion to Engineering, Product Marketing, Quality, Customer Service teams and operations team
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
2-3 years experience as Engineer in New product development, Product support or Testing
Must possess capability to work independently or in a team environment
Must be able to perform hands-on tasks
Must be able to travel up to 10-15%
Proven analytical, technical reporting and organizational skills required
