  • Overview

    The Territory Sales Manager will create, implement and drive an effective sales plan to achieve growth in the Chicago territory. The person in this role will work with wholesalers, contractors, engineers and other key influencers to drive sales across all GROHE product categories. In addition to sales and margin growth, the Territory Sales Manager will lead/direct all local sales initiatives that focus on plumber, builder and showroom incentive programs.  This position will report to the Regional General Manager and will work closely with projects and key account teams, product managers and sales leaders across the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops annual business plan to achieve assigned sales budget and marketing objectives for showroom, OTC and project channels for the territory. Includes actions items, responsibilities and follow up components. Review and update monthly.
    • Completes comprehensive key customer account plans to achieve individual account targets and support the requirements of the territory in total
    • Schedules calls on customer leadership on a consistent basis, based on account classification, to review sales results, account plans, promotional activities and training plans.
    • Service accounts by assisting with ordering and service related items; introducing and selling additional product to account; continuing efforts to increase inventory levels via pull-through sales; provide ongoing training for all account personnel.
    • Actively solicit the support of all important buying influences within assigned Territory such as: Plumbers, Mechanical Contractors, Builders, Architects, Kitchen Dealers, Engineers, Designers, Remodelers, OEM, and others.
    • Represent the company in a professional business-like manner, while carrying out the company policy.
    • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of all products.
    • Operate within expected budget levels.
    • Actively promotes and supports all company programs.
    • Resolve complaints in a timely and professional manner; involve Supervisor when necessary.
    • Complete all forms and reports and submit, complete and on time: Call Reports; Monthly Itinerary; Program Proposals; Expense Account Reports; Program Wrap-ups.
    • Maintain a complete Key Customer Call File: Distributor; Architects; Dealers; Plumbers; Engineer; Contractors; Builders; Other important Territory Contracts, identifying Company Name, Contact Person, Complete Address, Phone/Fax Numbers.
    • Investigate, inspect and report any product failure/liability problems that may arise.
    • Maintain a listing of target accounts for possible future distributorships.
    • Maintain an inventory of literature, price lists and sales aids necessary to fulfill your sales activity.
    • Attend and assist at Trade Shows/Conventions at National, Regional and Local levels.
    • Forecast Activities and Reports on the following: Territory Sales, Budget Needs, Market Activity, Customer Buying Habits, Projects/Jobs, Manufacturer Needs.

    Qualifications

    • 4 year College Degree required
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills required
    • Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Minimum of 3 years sales experience in the plumbing or building materials construction products industry. Knowledge and experience in showrooms, contractor and/or commercial specification sales a plus.
    • Established relationships in the plumbing wholesale distribution, kitchen and bath dealer or contractor channels a plus.
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Willingness to travel overnight as needed
