    The Operations Associate Manager for the DPI division of the Core Logistics Group oversees and interacts in the daily functions of the DPI Customer Care, Resource & Intermodal.  The Operations Associate Manager works with the Carrier Procurement Manager on Carrier Development & analyzing the business flow from both a plant level as well as a carrier level in determining areas in need of review.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage Resource Requirements 
      • Monitor carrier selections to ensure profits are being maximized while providing the needed service requirements to the customers, plants, and distribution centers
      • Manage any carrier issues that may arise
    • Manage DPI Customer Service 
      • Review the load tender process to ensure compliance both internally at Amstan and externally by the plants, distribution centers, and vendors
      • Assist the Customer Care group with any customer, plant, distribution center or vendor issues that may arise
      • Assist on Expedited loads where needed
      • Assist DPI Corporate Team Members where needed
    • Manage Interaction with DPI Intermodal Group
      • Work with Logistics Manager to find alternative routings and savings
      • Work on process flow to improve efficiencies and transit times
      • Ensure Per Diem is in-line
    • Carrier Development 
      • Customer and Carrier lane analysis monitoring volumes, revenues, and margins
      • Develop and drive policies and procedures with the object improving inefficiencies
      • Manage reports and metrics utilized in determining cost comparisons, cost savings areas, carrier selections, etc.
      • Maintain reports, and portals utilized by the Customer and External teams
    • Reports and Metrics 
      • Monitor and maintain various reports including, but not limited to, On-Time Performance and Late Reasons, IMOD vs. OTR Profit & Loss and Standard Operating Procedures for each area of responsibility.
    • Personnel 
      • Address performance and disciplinary issues with staff, as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University preferred or at least 10 years Transportation experience in increasing roles of responsibility.
    • Extensive knowledge of the Transportation industry, and Supply Chain strategies
    • 10+ years of Transportation experience preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications including, but not limited to, Outlook and Excel
    • Strong presence of the following objectives: Customer Service minded, interpersonal skills, oral communication, ability to work in a team environment, strong leadership capabilities, organizational support, and strategic thinking
    • Exhibit the ability to adapt to frequent changes and unexpected events, set goals and objectives to drive efficiencies, and follow policy and procedure
    • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to and supervise subordinates
