  • Overview

    The Manager’s primary responsibility is to obtain Amstan’s Indirect Air Carrier license and develop all procedures and policies required by Federal law. Concurrently Manager will develop sales through direct accounts and secure carriers to handle all freight in the program. Margins must be at levels required to meet operating plan goals. After securing IAC license, Manager will expand service into international market.


    • During the first several months, the Manager will focus on obtaining the IAC license while developing accounts that can be served by other IACs until license is received then transferred to Amstan’s IAC operation.
    • After establishing the IAC, Manager will:
    • Obtain sales in accordance with operating plan goals by identifying potential accounts and submitting proposal to accounts.  If accepted enter into appropriate contracts and disseminate rate information to pricing and accounting departments to ensure proper application of rates
    • Ensure that total revenue and line haul profit generated by external business at minimum meets that stipulated in operating plan
    • Monitor account credit status to ensure proper credit is in place to allow Amstan to handle freight with no interruption of service while working with Accounting, carriers and accounts to streamline invoice and payment process to reduce credit needs
    • Perform all analytical work as required to provide competitive pricing to customers 
    • Negotiate spot market rates with both accounts and carriers ensuring that Amstan’s desired level of return is obtained
    • Ensure customer service and operational staffs are fully trained in customer specific requirements.
    • Resolve any disputes with customers, sales agents, and carriers regarding rating, billing and delivery problems
    • Keep current with the latest developments in transportation industry including changes in regulations that could impact Amstan’s operation
    • Provide input regarding Amstan systems relative to customer needs and review potential systems to ensure customer needs will be met and provide the team with updates on the company and weekly reports
    • Interview quality candidates to help the team grow
    • Provide knowledge & experience to the team in any situation and making executive decisions for the department to ensure customer service & customer relationship are met


    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the refrigerated business of a carrier or third party logistics company.
    • General Sales, Customer Service and Operations knowledge or experience also required.
    • Strong knowledge of computer systems including Transportation Management Systems
    • Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the transportation of goods
